about

About the novella: It’s 1987 and music-obsessed teenager, Rob, spends his time playing in an electronic pop duo with his best friend, Glen, and dodging the homophobic bullies at school. When his girlfriend, Claire, suddenly goes missing, the police suspect he knows more than he’s letting on. Trying to discover what happened to her, a series of strange events make him question both his own sanity and the world around him.

About the album: The ‘Teenage Wildlife’ soundtrack is like a frozen moment from 1987 alternative-pop Britain. Imagine New Order had instead gone down the film soundtrack route, in a similar way to Tangerine Dream, and then you’ll get a sense of this unique album. But like the story it soundtracks, the persistence of memory is not always what it seems. The pull of the past can be comforting but also something to fear.
